The end of the year is closing in on us and many homeowners are asking themselves the question; Is it a good time to try to rent or sell my home? Is it a waste of time? Will it sit on the market and become stale?
Most homeowners don't put their home on the market, or remove their home from the market in the winter months. As a result, the inventory of available homes for rent and for sale takes a serious dive. As most agents, buyers, and renters in the Denver market know, the inventory here is already on the low side. So what does that mean to the homeowner? If there are buyers and renters out there, and my fellow RE/MAX agents will tell you there are, you may be at a huge advantage by putting your home out there, while the rest of the homeowners pull back.
The market does tend to slow down during the holidays, but rather than pull your house out of the market and possibly miss out on a qualified renter or buyer, simply change the showing procedures to require more notice or block out specific dates so you can enjoy your holidays and maybe the best present you will receive this year will be a long term lease or a sale.
